C16H37NO4S 339.54 CAS RN®: 32503-27-8.-White, crystalline powder. Soluble in alcohol yielding a slightly hazy, colorless solution.
Assay: Dissolve about 170 mg, accurately weighed, in 40 mL of water. Titrate with 0.1 N sodium hydroxide VS, determining the endpoint potentiometrically. Perform a blank determination and make any necessary correction. Each mL of 0.1 N sodium hydroxide is equivalent to 33.95 mg of C16H37NO4S. Not less than 97.0% is found. 37
MELTING RANGE (741): between 169° and 173°.
