Dissolve 5.5 g of magnesium chloride and 7 g of ammonium chloride in 65 mL of water, add 35 mL of ammonia TS, set the mixture aside for a few days in a well-stoppered bottle, and filter. If the solution is not perfectly clear, filter it before using.
