—Dissolve 40.0 g of lead acetate in 90 mL of carbon dioxide-free water. Adjust with 10 M sodium hydroxide to a pH of 7.5, centrifuge, and use the clear supernatant. It contains NLT 16.7% (w/w) and NMT 17.4% (w/w) of Pb in a form corresponding to the formula C8H14O10Pb3. The solution remains clear when stored in a well-closed container.
