(Bromocresol Blue; Tetrabromo-m-cresol-sulfonphthalein), C21H14Br4O5S—698.01—White or pale buff-colored powder. Slightly soluble in water; soluble in alcohol and in solutions of alkali hydroxides. Transition interval: from pH 4.0 to 5.4. Color change: from yellow to blue.
