Accurately pipet 100 mL of commercially available 0.1 M lead perchlorate solution into a 1000-mL volumetric flask, and dilute with water to volume.
Standardization: Accurately pipet 50 mL of 0.01 M lead perchlorate solution into a 250-mL conical flask. Add 3 mL of aqueous
hexamethylenetetramine solution (2.0 g per 100 mL) and 4 drops of 0.5% xylenol orange indicator prepared by adding 500 mg of xylenol orange to 10 mL of alcohol and diluting with water to 100 mL. Titrate with 0.05 M edetate disodium VS to a yellow endpoint.
M= (mL edetate disodium x M edetate disodium)/50.0
[NOTE-If this volumetric solution is used in a qualitative application such as pH adjustment, dissolution medium, or diluent, its standardization is not required.]
