Dissolve 4.9455 g of arsenic trioxide primary standard, dried according to the label instructions or, if this information is not available, dried at 105° for 1 h, in 75 mL of 1 N potassium hydroxide. Add 40 g of potassium bicarbonate, dissolved in about 200 mL of water, and dilute with water to 1000.0 mL.
